Best for financing options: Amazon Prime Store Card

Why we like this card: Cardholders who need to make a big purchase on Amazon and pay it off over a period of several months may appreciate the Amazon Prime Store Card’s options for promotional financing. On purchases of $150 or more, get the option of paying off your bill over a special financing period ranging from six to 24 months, or paying it off through an equal payments plan that can also span from six to 24 months. Note that the length of your plan depends on the purchase amount. Also be aware you won’t earn cash back when using promotional financing.

When not making use of promotional financing, cardholders with an Amazon Prime membership can get a generous rewards rate: Prime cardholders can earn 5% back at Amazon.com. However, without Prime, you’ll only qualify for the Amazon.com Store Card which earns no rewards.

Redeem your cash back toward Amazon purchases or as a statement credit.

What to watch out for: If you opt for a special financing period but don’t pay the purchase off in full on time, you’ll owe interest from the date of purchase. This is known as deferred interest.
